Specialized Third-Cycle Studies in Philosophy

The Specialized Third-Cycle Studies in Philosophy constitute an alternative form of education intended for individuals who wish to obtain a doctoral degree in the discipline of philosophy outside of the Doctoral School (in an external mode), in accordance with the requirements set out in the Apostolic Constitution Veritatis Gaudium.

The Specialized Third-Cycle Studies in Philosophy are conducted entirely in English.

 


Admission Requirements

Candidates applying for the Specialized Third-Cycle Studies in Philosophy must meet all of the following conditions:

 


Eligibility Criteria 

Admission to the Specialized Third-Cycle Studies in Philosophy is based on the result of a preliminary interview, during which the candidate presents their research interests and previous academic achievements. During the interview, the committee will also assess the candidate’s level of English language proficiency, which is necessary for undertaking the program.

Only candidates who have completed the full registration in the IRK system are eligible for the preliminary interview.

Document Submission

Only candidates who have been admitted are required to submit their documents within the time frame specified in the recruitment schedule. Documents must be submitted to the appropriate office during its official working hours. The address of the office can be found in the “Contact” section.

Original documents, from which copies will be made for the records, certified as true copies of the originals
  • Diploma of completion of second-cycle studies or long-cycle studies;
  • A document confirming the possession of an ecclesiastical Licentiate degree;
  • Written permission from the competent Ordinary, religious superior or superior of an association of apostolic life - in the case of clergy; and in the case of lay people - a letter of recommendation from their priest. 

 


Tution fee

The tuition fee is PLN 9,000 (PLN 1,500 per semester).

All classes are conducted remotely (online).
